Cecelia's Closet and Food Pantry

Provides clothing and food to those in need. Referrals are made by local organizations and the Morgan Hill Unified School District. Volunteers help families find the right size clothes for the whole family.

Fit  for Fall

Every August elementary school families come for a Back-to-School event, Fit For Fall. Students receive new and gently used clothing as well as new backpacks, socks, and underwear. Between 500 and 700 families are served.

Para Los Niños / For The Children

Twice a week, families at Cecelia’s Closet are provided free internet so students can work on their Chromebooks and receive tutoring, snacks, and lunch. Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints elders and sisters from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister, Morgan Hill Rotarians, Morgan Hill Community Foundation, and community leaders are the tutors. The students are learning and so are their parents! COVID-19 protocol is practiced, including a limit of one family per table and tables spaced six feet apart.

Octoberfest

Edward Boss Prado Foundation puts all inventory out for everyone attending, including new Halloween costumes for the youth. This event is open to the public, youth and adults. Kiwanis Club of Morgan Hill provides hot dogs, chips, and water to every person.

Toys 4 Our Own

Barrels are given out to businesses in Morgan Hill, San Martin, Gilroy, Hollister, Seaside, Monterey, and Salinas to collect new toys. The unwrapped toys are then distributed to various organizations, including the Morgan Hill Unified School District. To date, over 24,000 toys have been given to the families of our communities.

Other Programs

Thanksgiving Holiday Dinners

Members of the community receive fresh turkey with all the fixings. About 500 to 600 turkeys are given out each year to families in need, including adult education and youth alliance.

Morgan Hill Police Hope Program

We fill backpacks so that every patrol car has new backpacks filled with non-perishable food, hygiene, towel, blanket, $7.00 for homeless people and survival items like flashlights, hand warmers, scarfs, socks, etc.

Cecelia’s Closet at Kaiser
Cecelia’s Closet at Kaiser San Jose is for emergency room patients who don’t have clothing. We’ve worked with homeless patients who had clothes cut off as well as a mom who gave birth and didn’t have a robe. We help patients who don’t have clothing to leave the hospital, so they leave with dignity in addition to good health care.

Prado On Go Scholarships
Scholarships for vocational training are given to students. Today, over $100,000 in scholarships have been given.

Prado On-The-Go Meals
We provide lunch bags for the homeless.

Cecelia’s Career Closet
Clothing appropriate for interviews provided; participants receive five tops, three pair bottoms, shoes, skirts, dresses, etc.

Gate To Gate Food Giveaway
Food is donated and collected from local grocery stores, organizations, community members and businesses and is sorted and bagged, then given in a drive-through where volunteers put the food into the cars of those in need. COVID-19 prompted the Edward Boss Prado Foundation to start this giveaway.

Heart To Heart Dinners

On Sundays, challenged families drive up and pick up a meal ready to be heated including salad, bread and drinks for the whole family. This is one of the programs being provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
